# Request an access token

POST https://auth.modernfi.com/oauth/token
Content-Type: application/json

Obtain an OAuth2 access token using client credentials

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer <token>`, where token is your auth token.

## Servers

- `https://auth.modernfi.com` (Production, default)
- `https://auth.uat.modernfi.com` (UAT)
- `http://localhost:8000` (Local)

## Request

### Body (application/json)

This endpoint expects an object.

- `client_id` (string, required) — The client ID of the application
- `client_secret` (string, required) — The client secret of the application
- `grant_type` ("client_credentials", required)
- `audience` (string, optional) — The API identifier to issue the token for. Omit it to receive a token for the tenant's default audience, the ModernFi API.
